In November of 2004, our local Tri-Ess chapter was the host chapter for the Tri-Ess National Holiday En Femme Convention. From Thursday morning until Sunday noon about 70 cross-dressers went to seminars, classes, the vendor booths, and oh yes ,,, out on the town to bowl, go to nice restaurants, take in a movie, shop, sightsee, and all the other things tourists do. The only thing is, it was all done en femme, and if you had the idea Northwest Arkansas is redneck, and unaccepting, you are wrong! Our chapter has had no problems doing just what was done at the HEF, and the HEF exceeded our expectations, as again, there were no problems.
In fact, regardless of the size of the group, everyone was treated like ladies everywhere we went.
One of the vendors at HEF was the organizer of "Pretty in Pink," and invited us to help with the event, en femme if we wished. YES!! In February 2005, we assisted the organizer and others with this fundraising event for the local Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. All the help we gave them was done en femme, and for helping, we were all given gratis tickets to the Saturday Night Gala. Everyone attended wearing a nice Evening Dress or Gown, and we received many nice compliments from other attendees, the sponsors, and even the models.
